Brighton College Abu Dhabi (also known as BCAD) was a high profile entrant into Abu Dhabi when the school opened in 2011. It is currently a FS- Year 13 school located on Abu Dhabi Island in the Bloom Gardens area. The school currently caters to approximately 1,825 students.
The newest Aldar Academies Primary and Secondary school located at al Mamoura opened in 2016 and has grown rapidly. With a little over 1,300 students, the school has established itself well within the local community, offering a unique blend of mixed-gender Primary and Girls-only Secondary school. It has also recently introduced a US curriculum pathway for Senior students in addition to the UK curriculum.
Located in Al Manaseer, Al Bateen Academy offers a British and International Baccalaureate based curriculum. The school currently has just over 800 students, girls and boys, from Year 7 to 13, and in September 2019, re-opened its Primary section from FS 2 to Year 1 initially and how now, as of 2021, opened through to Year 6.
Al Nahda National School for Boys is a Grade 4 to Grade 12 school located in Abu Dhabi. Younger children from KG-Grade 3 are co-located in the mixed gender Primary School located at the Girls' School campus. The school was established in September 1983 and offers the UK curriculum from Grade 4 and an additional US curriculum option from Grade 9.
Part of the Al Nahda National Schools Group, Al Nahda National School for Girls is not strictly a Girls' school only. The school offers co-educational, mixed gender classes from KG to Grade 3. Boys then transfer to the Al Nahda National School for Boys.
Amity International School is located not far from Deerfields Mall on the Abu Dhabi- Dubai highway. Set towards the coast, the school is located directly opposite an inlet to the main waterway and a highlight of the school are its boathouse and sailing activities, which are offered to both parents and children.
Italian International School is a new school - and first for the UAE - teaching both the IB and Italian National Curriculum.
Maplewood International School is one of three Canadian curriculum schools in Abu Dhabi. It is located in Mohammed bin Zayed City.
ABC Private School is located in Al Shamkha City in Abu Dhabi and currently enrols over 2000 students. Performance is currently rated Acceptable by ADEK, the Abu Dhabi education regulator.
Al Muna Academy has every right to feel happy. It was the first school in Abu Dhabi to have been awarded, for the 2015-16 academic year, an A1 rating (Outstanding) by the emirate's inspection team and is still the only stand-alone primary school to receive such a grading. It 2017-18, it cemented that achievement by again being rated Outstanding. No subsequent report has been issued.
Al Yasmina School, located off the island of Abu Dhabi, close to the airport, offers a British curriculum for students from two to eighteen years old, and has a capacity for 2000 students, and is currently at full capacity.
West Yas Academy Abu Dhabi, located on Yas Island, is the first US curriculum school to be operated by Aldar Academies.
The Pearl Academy, previously Aldar Island Academy, is a highly regarded British curriculum primary school owned and run by Aldar Academies,. The school, operating since 2007, is currently home to almost 650 pupils in FS 1 to Year 6.
Diyafah International School in Mohammed bin Zayed City, is one of two moderately priced UK curriculum schools operated as a family business by the daughter (in Dubai) and son (in Abu Dhabi) of the founder of the original Dubai school.
Liwa International School Al Qattara, which opened in August 2022, is the latest school to join the Al Ain-based Liwa Education group.
