Established in 1966, the American School of Dubai is one of the oldest co-educational K-12 schools in Dubai. It is a not-for-profit independent school, governed by a Board of Trustees. There is no owner of ASD.
Kings' School Nad Al Sheba has come some way since its opening in September 2014. The original building now houses only the Foundation section and has been joined by a second building, in identical style, which houses the Primary section. The secondary section will open in the 2021-22 academic year.
Having opened with approx. 650 students in September 2014, Kings Al Barsha has grown to over 2,500 students. The school expanded to the first year of Sixth Form (Year 12) in 2017-18 and offers all year groups.
Kings’ School Dubai, known as Kings’ Dubai, was the first of the Kings Education group of schools to open in Dubai, opening as a Primary only school. Amity School Dubai is a CBSE Curriculum school which opened in April 2017 in the Al Qusais School Zone. It is part of the same group that operates Amity University in Dubai and Amity International School in Abu Dhabi.
Star International School Al Qusais is a branch campus of Star International School Al Twar which opened as a Secondary only campus in September 2021.
Next Generation School, located in Al Barsha, opened in August 2016 and teaches an American Common Core inspired curriculum in conjunction with an Islamic education.
Collegiate International School (formerly Collegiate American School) opened in 2011 in Umm Suqeim, and admits children from pre-KG to Grade 12. CIS was the only US curriculum school within the Innoventures Group of schools and has now adopted the IB curricula and pedagogy, using the content of the US Common Core.
GEMS Legacy School - until April 2021 known as The Kindergarten Starters - is a long-established GEMS Education school following the CBSE curriculum.
GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail is a UK curriculum, GEMS Education 'Premium Plus' school (which means top of the range for facilities and fees), located together with GEMS International School and GEMS New Millenium School on a large site at the edge of the Dubai Hills development and close to Mohammed bin Rashid City.
With just over 2,720 students, Cambridge International School Dubai, located in Garhoud, is a well established GEMS school teaching children from FS 1 to Year 13.
Dubai Scholars Private School is a private UK curriculum FS 1- year 13 school located in Al Ghusais, Dubai, educating children from 3 to 18 years of age. It has consistently been rated Good by the KHDA over the past ten years.
